Diving whilst staying at Sanbis Resort

The diving is fantastic around Gizo, but it gets even better with Solomon Water Sport. Gizo Island, in the Western Province, is the gateway for some world class diving.

It has a vast array of fish & fauna plus some sensational World War II wrecks. The Western Province is comprised of a scattering of islands, many uninhabited. Most of these islands are ringed by coral and offer a wide variety of dive sites, from shallow water atolls to plunging walls.

The gin clear water opens up an amazing display of sea whips, giant gorgonian fans and an immense display of hard and soft corals. Sharks, pelagic fish, turtles, eagle rays are ever present plus huge schools of reef fish make our dives memorable. The marine life is astounding and so spectacular it has some of the most photogenic seascapes in the world.

Dive trips guided by one of our registered PADI Dive Masters are leaving from the Sanbis Resort Dive Centre. All dive sites are within a short boat ride from Sanbis. Light lunches are provided and for divers diving on several days, we organise a beach BBQ on a nearby secluded island during surface intervals. Pre & post dive set up is all part of the service. No slugging heavy loads on or off the boat for our guests. It gets even better, you can relax filling in your log book, or looking up the strange fish you've just witnessed, whilst our staff rinse off and store your diving equipment. No fuss, no hassle is our aim.

We stock all Scubapr Gear with all regulators equipped with an optional Uwatec Dive Computer.

Apart from Scuba Diving we also offer all sorts of exciting watersport activities. Game fishing, windsurfing, sailing, kayaking, water-skiing, knee-boarding!

Hyperbaric Chamber is now in Honiara!

In the unlikely event of an accident we now have a fully operational hyperbaric facility that is owned and funded by Hyperbaric Health, an Australian Company. The dive industry is now really ready to take off. There is no longer the fear of having to go to Fiji or Papua New Guinea to get help.

Diving is fun, but we take your safety seriously. We have First Aid trained personnel on every Dive Boat with First Aid Kit and Oxygen available.
